Dear Sheppard Families,

We are excited to announce that our school will be proudly taking part in the 2022 Terry Fox School Run, scheduled to take place on Friday, September 23 at 11:45 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Families are welcome to join us for our run, either to come to help, participate by walking/running, or simply stopping by to cheer on our Flyers. Please let us know if you are able to come help with this outdoor event. This event will support cancer research while also building incredible school spirit for our students. Let’s all show the great strength and resiliency of our school community with your support of one of our greatest Canadian heroes, Terry Fox.

The Terry Fox Foundation has created an online fundraising page for our school as well as providing student/classroom “Terry” activities. Here are some of the ways you can support your child for this year’s Terry Fox event:

  • There is no minimum donation, every dollar counts!
  • Receipts are issued immediately to donors by email

  • Upload personal photos, videos and messages to share with friends and family
  • All student logins and links are private and secure

Support your child’s “Try Like Terry” Challenge

  • Help your child select a goal and fun activity to support their fundraising efforts
  • Try one of the suggested activities online or come up with your own
  • Share your activity on social media and tag others to join

Our “Toonies for Terry” tub will also be located at the office for cash or cheque donations if you prefer to donate in person. We greatly appreciate ANY kind of fundraising effort! Every dollar helps continue Terry’s Marathon of Hope. Please make any cheques payable to “The Terry Fox Foundation”. We request that all fundraising monies be submitted by Friday, September 23 at the latest so that we can announce if we have reached our fundraising goal before our run. In the past 14 years of a Sheppard Terry Fox Run we have raised an incredible $62,695. We are so in awe of our community’s generosity!
